Self-care Tips for Late Sleepers

Self-care Tips for Late Sleepers

Staying up all night and sleeping late can happen for many reasons--from stress from work to binge-watching on your favorite shows. Of course, sleeping late is unhealthy, but it isn’t too bad if you late sleepers know how to make it up for your sleep habit.

1. Eat healthy.

If you can’t get your body enough to sleep, at least get your stomach some healthy foods--especially those kinds of food that are good for the brain, such as soybean, tofu, egg yolk, chicken breast, and fish. Vitamin b also helps stimulate the nervous system and brain functions so that your body won’t get too tired.

2. Take vitamins to lose stress.

If your main reason for insomnia is stress, consider taking vitamins that contain de-stressing substances like vitamin b and c. The vitamins can be taken in various forms such as vitamin supplements or via nutritious foods. You may choose to drink fresh juice daily--no sugar added if you don’t want to gain weight.

3. Light exercise after waking up.

You may have been staying up all night, but you should get some exercise after waking up to freshen up your body, get ready for the new day, and keep yourself healthy. The exercise can be anything like sitting up and down or jogging in place.

4. No coffee after 4 pm.

Drinking coffee when it’s already past 4 pm can make you stay up all night. So, if it’s past 4, no coffee. If you really need to fresh up your energy, we recommend having a cup of hot cocoa or dark chocolate instead.

5. Get some relaxation.

Find some fun relaxing activities to do such as listening to music, getting out into nature, or taking some rest on weekends.

Those are 5 simple self-care tips for those who really need to sleep late. But you know that it works better to sleep at least for 6-8 hours a day to keep yourself healthy.
