Music As a Stress Therapy

Music As a Stress Therapy

Music therapy is a practice that physicians use to recover patients’ physical and mental health, allowing them to relax and reduce stress.

            1. Patients in the recovery stage don't always need to listen to classics or sweet instruments. They can listen to rock, heavy metal, or whatever genres they like.

            2. Patients waiting for surgery, when listening to music they like or enjoy, can calm themselves down and forget about their worries about the surgery.

            3. A violinist asked his doctor if he could play the violin during his brain tumor surgery session as a test to see if the surgery affected his brain and the ability to move fingers. After all, the surgery went well.

            4. It is found that stroke patients with left or right arm paralysis when engaged in the music they’re listening to, can forget about the chronic pain, reduce depression, and become more positive with a will to live.

            5. The result of music therapy relies on the patients’ appreciation for music and their physical and mental conditions. Even though it may help them relax, medicines and doctor appointments are still required.
