AXA Thailand General Insurance Holds ‘Bike for Good’ activity to Reduce Global Warming and Promote Environmental Sustainability
At AXA, we care about the effect of climate change on society and environment. As a responsible member of society, we are highly committed to help maintain the balance between human, environmental and climatic ecosystems by promoting long-term sustainable actions that will reduce impact of climate change on the planet.
This year, AXA Thailand General Insurance hosted “Bike for Good,” an outdoor activity to nurture fun and friendship among colleagues, and instill an awareness for nature and natural resources. The gathering was held in Bang Kachao, also known as Bangkok’s “major and last green lung,” an island located in the Chao Phraya River. A group of AXA volunteers took their bikes to do supporting sustainability activities, such as transplanting seedlings for reforestation, building fish homes for sea life, and collected dry leaves to create a compost pile to be used as fertilizer. They also molded and dropped Effective Microorganism (EM) mudballs into the lake to help decontaminate water and improve its quality.
“We are celebrating “AXA Week for Good”, a global action that shows the ability of AXA employees worldwide to take positive action in order to remind ourselves that environmental conservation and climate are where we want to protect and we will do actions to help the world to be better place. It is the critical mission that AXA employees will put our hearts into action”, said Paweena Khemarangsan, Chief Customer Officer, AXA Thailand General Insurance.
