AXA Insurance Joins Hands with Raks Thai Foundation to Engage Volunteers for Mangrove Preservation in Bangpu, Samut Prakan

AXA Insurance Joins Hands with Raks Thai Foundation to Engage Volunteers for Mangrove Preservation in Bangpu, Samut Prakan

In line with the company’s global “Hearts in Action” program and the 10th anniversary of Corporate Responsibility Week, AXA Thailand General Insurance organized a mangrove protection activity to spread awareness about the local environmental concerns, and motivate planning for a sustainable future among the youth and members of the community.

AXA Thailand GI’s management, staff, students and teachers from Migrant Children Learning Centers and representatives from Raks Thai Foundation joined the fun-filled event. The on-ground team planted 300 mangrove saplings at the Bangpu Nature Education Center, Sumut Prakan province.

Mangroves are incredibly important ecosystems that are essential to preserving life. Aside from providing physical protection for the coastlines, mangroves are home to aquatic creatures,  and other animals that keep the ecosystem rich. In addition, these mangroves also nourish and provide income for members of the local communities.

“AXA’s purpose is to act for human progress by protecting what matters.” explained Mr. Claude Seigne, CEO of AXA Thailand General Insurance. “Safeguarding the mangroves and ensuring their future means protecting more than just the ecosystem and the environment; it also means protecting lives. AXA lends its support and renews its commitment to sustainable causes because our collective actions today will determine our future.”

To reaffirm its solid commitment to bring positive impact through social responsibility, AXA Thailand also awarded scholarships and hosted a meal for students from Migrant Children Learning Centers, Raks Thai Foundation. This is AXA’s way of contributing to society and supporting causes that align with its core values.
