7 Desired Qualities to Increase Work Efficiency

7 Desired Qualities to Increase Work Efficiency

Efficient working requires effective parts of the machine. You might have heard people say “be humble like Thais, be punctual like westerners, be diligent like Chinese and be a team player like Japanese”. Here are 7 qualities you should possess for a better work result.

1. Go for the work. Don’t just sit and wait for the work. You should be proactive and ready to work. “Time never waits.” Don’t waste your time and do the work. You might miss the chance and who knows, there might not be a second chance for you. Being active and eager to do the work make you look more valuable to employers.

2. Set a clear goal. Your colleges have to have the same understanding to go for the same goal, in the desired quality and timeframe. Prioritizing is essential. Don’t let small problems get into your way.

3. Be positive. Every coin has two sides. When facing problems, try to calm yourself down and think carefully. Being positive is not about finding what’s “right” or “wrong”, but brainstorming and finding a solution. Don’t get stressed out and search for the root of the problem in order to solve it.

4. Communicate. Inability to communicate and delivering message might lead to failure. Find a way to convey your message, use a confident tone of voice, and avoid using special terms that nobody understands. It’s not good if your colleges ask questions because they don’t understand the work, but let them ask because they have more understanding in the work.

5. Show leadership. You don’t need to be the boss to show leadership. A subordinate can show leadership by ensuring team members that you can handle the work. Think professional and act like one. Don’t let people question your ability to do the work.

6. Always learn. Apart from your work field, learning new things can enhance your work efficiency.

7. Accept change. Change is inevitable as we’re living in a world of technology where things come and go rapidly. Many times we try to hold against change, but it’s better to be prepared and go with the flow.
