5 tips for an effective time management
The key elements of success for every organization are teamwork, attitude and time. Without one of these elements, you can fail even on an easy job. On the other hand, an impossible task can become an easy one thanks to teamwork. Here are 5 tips for an effective time management that you can apply in a busy day. Let’s get the idea of how “Work Smart” should be.
1. Set up a plan. Having a detailed work plan is better than none. Prioritize each task depending on its urgency and file one task in one folder. The most urgent and important task goes to the first folder. The second folder is for a less urgent task but with a same level of importance. The third folder, regardless of its ‘URGENT’ label, is for a less complicated task compared to the first two. Prioritize your tasks and rearrange them with a matter of importance.
2. Spare some time. You should finish each task 1-2 days ahead of its actual deadline just to make sure nothing goes wrong. Often times that a great idea pops up after the task has already been done. Having some extra time allows you to edit and finish up the task.
3. Harmony is the key. A big-scale task highly requires an open-minded boss who empowers the team members to show their potentials. Don’t just sit back and wait for the orders. Think of yourself as one of ‘The Avengers’ and even a difficult and urgent task can become an easy one. And don’t let emotions get over you. Keep in mind that every decision is based on a matter of fact.
4. Put your phone away. Concentrate more on your work by keeping your phone in the drawer with sound and vibration turned off. Only look at it from time to time. Putting your phone in the pocket or placing it on the desk can be distracting. On February, ‘Global Digital 2019’ reported a statistic figure showing Thais are using internet 9 hours 11 minutes a day. The result indicates that apart from sleeping time, people are scrolling their phones outside of work.
5. Work hard, play hard. A proper leisure time can increase work efficiency. Many people may think that it’s irrelevant. But think of it this way, you have worked hard for 5 days so the weekend should totally be your holiday. Forget about the work and go to a short trip or stay home all day to have your mind fully-recharged for the next Monday.
We believe you will make it through even on the hardest job.
